Phillip Island is one and half hours drive south-east of Melbourne and Phillip Island boasts breathtaking beauty with rugged coastlines, idyllic beaches including nationally recognised surfing reserves and native wildlife encounters. With a number of scenic villages to discover, family activities across San Remo and the entire Island, there is certainly a lot to experience. You can welcome home the Little Penguins when they arrive home at dusk, visit the sleepy koalas in their natural habitat, enjoy a cruise to see the playful seals, or you can enjoy a day at a beautiful surf beach or relax and enjoy our local wine at one of the wineries on the Island. There is so much to do and when visiting the Island you will create a lifetime of holiday memories
Your journey will be covering a number of videos displaying this beautiful Island. The first video is when you arrive at San Remo and this is where the bridge connecting the mainland to the Island is located. San Remo is a fishing village and is the home of the largest shark fishing fleet. You can watch the fisherman unloading their catch and then taste it yourself with the fish and chips from the San Remo Fishermans Co-operative, or you can charter a fishing boat to catch your own. At 12 noon daily, you can watch the pelicans being fed. The village has an array of gift shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels, plus quality accommodation and caravan parks.
